Coach Ko Jae Pil was appointed National Trainer (Kyorugi) in 2021 and subsequently National Coach in 2023 and he has contributed to the achievements of our national Kyorugi athletes, most notably successes in the following tournaments:
a. 31st SEA Games: 2 Bronze
b. 32nd SEA Games: 2 Bronze
c. 33rd SEA Games: 1 Bronze
d. One athlete qualified for Asian Games since 2010 and finished top 9 in Asia
Singapore Taekwondo Federation (STF) would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Coach Ko for his dedicated service which concludes in March 2026. Coach Sun Ai-chi from Chinese Taipei will assume coaching duties for both Youth and Senior squads for the national kyorugi development programme until a new national coach is recruited.
STF will be embarking on a national coach (kyorugi) recruitment exercise and interested applicants may submit their resume to adminasst@stf.org.sg
Clarifications on the Application and Renewal of Coach Pass
STF has received several queries regarding the application and renewal of the Singapore Taekwondo Federation (STF) coach pass. You may refer to the attached document for clarifications on the amount required to pay and the pre-requisites for the renewal / application of the STF Coach Pass.
All coaches are reminded that the new STF Coach Pass will take effect from 9 March 2026 onwards. Holders of the previous Coach Pass will not be allowed to enter the competition courts unless otherwise stated and / or with written consent from STF.
A gentle reminder that the registration for Coach Seminar 2026 will close by 30 January 2026, 5pm or when all slots are filled, whichever is earlier.

Temporary Suspension – Robin Chow Pak Hoong
Mr. Robin Chow’s membership with the National Registry of Coaches (NROC) has been suspended by SportSingapore pending the completion of an investigation.

As an interim measure only (without any determination whatsoever by the Singapore Taekwondo Federation of liability or misconduct on his part), Mr Robin Chow Pak Hoong is temporarily suspended from all STF activities (whether at competitions, training or otherwise) with effect from 1 December 2025. His suspension shall be in effect until the conclusion of the aforesaid investigation. The STF will review the results of the investigation before taking any further action.
Take notice that nothing herein, whether express or implied, is to be taken as a finding (or allegation) by the STF of any misconduct by Mr Robin Chow Pak Hoong.
Disciplinary Action – Justin Ng
A Board of Inquiry (BOI) was held to investigate Mr. Justin Ng’s involvement in conducting unauthorised grading and he has admitted to his wrongdoings.
STF will be imposing the following disciplinary action on Mr. Ng with effect from 1st December 2025 for a period of three years
a. Cancellation of Coach Pass
b. Revocation of STF-issued Dan certificate
c. Ban from holding office in any STF affiliated clubs
d. Suspension from all STF activities
STF shall have no obligation whatsoever to reinstate his qualifications and shall do so only at its sole discretion.
All affiliate owners are once again strongly reminded to ensure that all gradings are performed in accordance with the grading requirements, i.e. Students may be graded only by appointed STF Examiners or qualified STF Assessors; failing which, they will be subjected to stern disciplinary action.
Parents and students may also refer to the list of appointed STF Examiners and qualified Assessors in the STF website.
