It turned out to be a 45-minute non-stop action-packed performance from the K-Tigers who displayed their skills and stamina at the Taekwondo Spectacular on Saturday 30 October 2010 at Toa Payoh Sports Hall. It was held through the collaboration of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea and the Singapore Taekwondo Federation (STF).
As the admission to the hall was on a first-come first-served basis, there was already a long queue of spectators waiting for the gates to be opened at 5.30pm – two hours before the shows started! At 7.15pm, the seating gallery was almost filled to the brim. The organizers closed the gates at 7.30pm. Quite a number of people had to be disappointed.
After the formalities including speeches by the Guest of Honor, Mr Seah Kian Peng (MP for Marine Parade Constituency) and Mr Oh Joon (Ambassador of the Republic of Korea), the K-Tigers took centre-stage. One amazing performance was followed by another without any break for the spectators to take their breath or show their appreciation.
Said STF President Milan Kwee: “I was delighted to see how the demonstration unfolded. The event was conducted smoothly. The crowd was excellent. And the performance was sensational.”
The best thing about the show: Admission was free!
