CNY Taekwondo Old Folks Home Visit

Mr Brian Peh from Zen Academy has always had an altruistic heart and strongly believed in giving back to the society, he had previously initiated various charity movement with his Taekwondo group such as participating in the Singapore Association of Deaf (SADEAF) Flagday in 16th March 2011, getting his Taekwondo team to do a demonstration during the Fund raising for the Children Cancer Foundation at Ngee Ann Civic Plaza in year 2011 & 2012 and also doing his part to contribute to the NYP Paint Project on 22nd October 2011 which involved more than 700 students and staff of NYP painting and cleaning 100 flat of needy families and elderlies living in the Teck Ghee Constituency.

This year round, Mr Peh has an idea to organize old folk home visits during the Chinese New Year period to spread the festive joy and happiness to lonely elderlies. The 2 old folk homes visited are Bright Vision Hospital located at 5 Lorong Napiri, Singapore 547530 and Lee Ah Mooi Old Aged Home located at 1 Thomson Lane, Singapore 297728, these visits are on 11th February 3-5pm and 14th February 2015 11.30am-3pm respectively.

To achieve this objective, Mr Peh has assembled a group to make the Old Folks Home visits a success. The make-up of the team is Mr Brian Peh Chun Zhiang (Organizer), Mr Darran Lee Thiam Huat, Mdm Loh En En, Ms Beatrice Lim.

Mr Peh as chief instructor of Zen Academy has trained up his group of Taekwondo exponents to put up a spectacular demonstration to bring up the festive atmosphere of Chinese New Year during the visit, Mr Peh has also gathered his friends to donate for the old folks home and is currently open to donations. Mr Lee has gathered his Taekwondo students from Pei Hwa Secondary School to learn and make paper flower rocher to sell during the valentine day and raise funds to provide for the goodie bags for the old folks. Mdm Loh En En has contributed to the making of the goodie bags by providing ang baos in the goodie bag and also arranging for children to put up a festive performance.

Ms Beatrice Lim, principle of Ideal Montessori Childcare has provided for all necessary item to assemble the goodie bag which includes oranges and CNY small bag, Ms Lim has also taught the students from Pei Hwa Secondary School hand origami to make the Paper Flower Rocher.
