National Poomsae referees will be considered for promotion based on their taekwondo qualifications, performance and officiating experience.
The promotion criteria are as follow:
3rd Class Provisional:
- Level 1 (provisional) Poomsae Coach Certification
- Participants will be awarded Class 3 (P) upon successfully passing the National Poomsae Referee Course conducted by the Singapore Taekwondo Federation (STF).
3rd Class:
- Held the 3rd Class (Provisional) National Poomsae Referee qualification.
- Officiated in minimum one (1) Nationals or National Inter-school and four (4) sanctioned tournaments.
- Poomsae Coach Level 1 Certification
- Valid Poomsae Referee Licence.
- Approved by the Board of Referees.
2nd Class:
- Minimum 2nd Dan
- Held the 3rd Class National Poomsae Referee qualification for at least two (2) years.
- Officiated in the capacity of a 3rd Class Referee in minimum two (2) Nationals or National Inter-School and six (6) sanctioned tournaments.
- Poomsae Coach Level 2 Certification
- Valid Poomsae Referee Licence.
- Approved by the Board of Referees.
1st Class:
- Minimum 3rd Dan
- Held the 2nd Class National Poomsae Referee qualification for at least three (3) years.
- Officiated in the capacity of a 2nd Class Referee in minimum four (4) Nationals or National Inter-School and six (6) sanctioned tournaments.
- Poomsae Coach Level 3 Certification
- Valid Poomsae Referee Licence.
- Approved by the Board of Referees.
S Class:
- Minimum 4th Dan
- Held the 1st Class National Poomsae Referee qualification for at least four (4) years.
- Officiated in minimum of six (6) Nationals or National Inter-School and six (6) from STF sanctioned tournaments.
- Held the appointment of Chief Referee (CR) or Deputy Chief Referee (DCR) in at least four (4) STF sanctioned tournaments.
- Poomsae Coach Level 3 Certification
- Valid Referee Licence.
- Recommended by the Board of Referees.
- Approved by the Technical Standing Committee.
* NOTE: The referee must clocked in at least 75% of the entire duration of the tournament to be eligible as a consideration for promotion. (For example, if the tournament duration is 10 hours, a referee must clock at least 7.5 hours in order for the hours to be taken into consideration for promotion.)
