The Singapore Taekwondo Federation (STF) has broken a number of records recently. It has registered the highest the number of tournaments, courses and demonstrations conducted for 2006/2007.
For the 34th Pesta Sukan National Taekwondo Championships which will be held on 11, 12, 25 and 26 August 2007, the STF earned another record when the competition attracted the highest number of participants ever – almost 800 participants from 81 clubs. The number could have breached the 800 mark if a few clubs had not missed the closing date.
Nevertheless, the STF is pleased to receive the overwhelming response for the championships. It shows the confidence the participants have in showcasing their talents in the event.
In view of the expected huge number of participants, the STF expects the event to be prolonged. The Organising Committee hopes that Club officials, coaches, contestants and parents’ of participants bear with the long hours.
The Organising Committee will endeavour to ensure that the competition runs smoothly and efficiently.
The STF would like to take this opportunity to thank all participants for their support and wish all of them a rewarding and enjoyable experience at the championships.
