Congratulations to athlete Mr. Marius Madsen and Coach Joel Kong for winning the Singapore’s very first Gold Medal at the inaugural First World Para Taekwondo Poomsae Championships.
The championship is being held at Manama, Bahrain on 26 and 27 Nov 2024. Mr. Marius competed in the P52 Senior Male on 26 Nov 2024 and emerged as the Champion for this event.
The STF is extremely proud of Mr. Marius’s outstanding performance and achievement at the championships.
The Federation and its Para Taekwondo Sub-committee will continue to promote Para Taekwondo in Singapore to enable more people to experience and support the sport.

As part of supporting the National Sporting Agenda, the Singapore Taekwondo Federation (STF) conducts annual Open Selections to identify aspiring athletes to join the National Development Squad and to develop the pool of High Performance talents to prepare for international tournaments and championships.
All affiliates are invited to participate in the Open Selection for Kyorugi and Poomsae events. All Podium Finishers (Only Black or Poom belt holders) of STF-organised competitions are welcomed to register for the Open Selection.
Please note that candidate can only sign up for ONE (1) category ONLY (i.e. either Poomsae OR Kyorugi).
OPEN SELECTION
All candidates must be SINGAPORE CITIZENS and are STF Poom or Black belt holders.
All candidates are required to complete and submit the attached forms in the Annex and email to the STF Secretariat at hpexec@stf.org.sg and stkdf@mail.com by 16 December 2024.
Annex 1 – Application Form_Open Selection 2025
The Starter Pack which detailed the components that will be assessed during the Open Selection has been emailed to all affiliates. Please check your email for the Starter Pack.
The Open Selection would only be opened for observation by the registered accompanying coaches (must be Level 2 qualified). Please note that no photography and video recording will be allowed.
Individuals who are unwell, on Leave of Absence, Stay-Home Notice or contagious diseases should not attend the event.

For Foundation to R2, grading can only be done by qualified Grading Assessors who have successfully completed the Grading Assessor Accreditation Course and have applied for a valid Assessor licence.
Submission for the Grading can only be at the STF office during office hours.
Please ensure that ALL grading cards are properly completed and duly endorsed. A recent photograph of the candidate must be attached
For ALL candidates who are going for 1st Dan/Poom & above, please have the following documents during submission: a) Candidate’s grading card b) 1 recent IC / passport photograph of the candidate c) Form B (duly completed)
Submission will not be accepted if any of the documents is not available or, for Form B, partially completed.
Submission will not be accepted if candidate fails to produce any of the documents mentioned above.
The last day of submission (Junior Red 1 & above, Senior Red 1 to 3rd Dan) is on 17 December 2024 (Tuesday). Any submission after this date will be considered as LATE SUBMISSION..
Late submissions for candidates taking Red 1 & above are to be done within two (2) weeks from 25 Sept 2024 (Wednesday). Submission beyond the grace period of two (2) weeks WILL NOT be accepted. An administrative fee will be charged accordingly for late submission within grace period. The charges are as follows:

50% of the grading fee payable by candidates for their respective grades.
On 12 January 2025, a roll call will be taken at 1.30pm for Red 1 (Senior) candidates going for 1st dan and 2.30pm for 1st dan and higher candidates. Those who miss the roll call will be considered as ABSENT or LATECOMERS. Latecomers will not be graded.
GRADING DEPARTMENT
Candidates are to turn up in proper dress code (as stipulated by the STF) for the grading. Candidates who fail to comply with the dress code will not be allowed to take the grading.
Supplementary Grading can only be conducted two (2) weeks before or after the Centralised Grading and will be subjected to the approval of the Grading Department.
While STF will take reasonable measures to ensure the safety of the grading procedure, Candidates will take all reasonable steps to ensure their own safety at all times and will not hold the Federation, the Grading Department or any of its servants, employees or agents responsible for any such injuries, accidents or mishaps that may befall on them during the course of the grading,

SUPPLEMENTARY GRADING
For clubs that wish to conduct supplementary grading for Junior 1st Poom to 4th Poom, a minimum number of 25 candidates is required.
Please register with the STF Secretariat by 17 December 2024 (Tuesday).
An examiner will be assigned by the Federation after the closing date.
COLOUR BELTS
The last day of submission for colour belts (club grading) is 14 February 2025 (Friday). Any submission after this date will be considered as LATE SUBMISSION.
An administrative fee of SGD 5.00 will be charged for late submission of candidates taking all other grades except Brown 1 & above.
The Singapore 2024 World Taekwondo Virtual Championships 2024 will take place in Singapore on November 16 and 17, marking the city-state’s swift return as a host after Virtual Taekwondo’s debut during the Olympic Esports Week in June 2023. This event is the first of its kind, showcasing Virtual Taekwondo as an innovative, fun, and barrier-free sport.
The competition will feature five categories: Mixed Junior (ages 13-15), Individual Male and Individual Female (ages 16-35), and Mixed Masters (ages 36 and above). Athletes from over 20 countries and our Team Singapore athletes will compete and vie for the championship title!

The ACE nomination and voting athletes registration was closed on 26 October 2024, 4pm. Thank you for your nomination and registration. Three nomination forms for election to ACE as Chair were received while there was no nomination form received for election to ACE as member(s). The three nominees’ profiles are attached.
For voting athletes who have registered before or by the registration closing date and time on 26 October 2024, 4pm you are eligible to attend and vote. Please bring along a photo ID for verification of the identity of the voting athletes and nominee.
