SG-Coach TKD Level 1 (Full Integration) course

Singapore Coach Excellence (SG-Coach) Taekwondo Level 1 full integrated program participants will go through online modules, classroom modules, assessments and feedback is given throughout the course to encourage active participation.

Date/Time:
*Lunch break (1.00pm to 2.00pm) will be given on Saturdays and Sundays.
*Participants must have 100% attendance to be eligible for the tests.

Pre-Requisite• Minimum 1st Dan Black Belt issued by STF
• Minimum 18 years old (Based on calendar year)
• Participant must be a member of STF’s affiliated club
• Valid Standard First Aid Certificate
Prior to attending face-to-face sessions, all course participants are required to go through and complete online modules via the SportSG-Ed portal.
• Link and instructions will be sent to all course participants at least 2 weeks prior to commencement of course.

Noted: Certificate will only be released when all pre-requisites have been fulfilled & all deliverables have been submitted
Assessment:Theory and Practical tests will be conducted at the end of the Course.
• SG-Coach Theory Level 1 & Foundation Sport Science Online Evaluation
o Participants will be required to take the online evaluation for this portion at Black Box MCQ Questions
• Assessment of Taekwondo Theory & Technical Knowledge
o Evaluation will be conducted on the last day of the practical evaluation
Certification:• Participants will be awarded SG Coach Excellence Programme Taekwondo Level 1 (Full Integration) certificate upon successfully completing the course.

Singapore National Olympic Council lifted the suspension of Singapore Taekwondo Federation

The Singapore Taekwondo Federation (STF) was suspended in May 2019 by World Taekwondo
(WT) and Singapore National Olympic Council (SNOC) and was placed under the management of
the Interim Management Committee (IMC) set up by SNOC and Sport Singapore (SportSG) for
the last 3 years and 8 months.

STF is happy to announce that SNOC has communicated that it is satisfied that STF has fulfilled
the key recommendations advocated by WT and SNOC to progress STF’s governance and highperformance
reforms. As such, SNOC has lifted the suspension of STF with effect from 26 January

In order that the work within STF continues to progress, SportSG will continue to monitor
and support STF in its reforms, until the STF Secretariat team has fully built up its resources and
capabilities.


WT has also communicated that they are fully in agreement with SNOC on the lifting of the
suspension and will take necessary measures in accordance with its Statutes to welcome STF back
to the family. This includes getting the approval and recommendation of the Member Relations
& Development Commission, after which the lifting of suspension will be tabled at the next WT
Council Meeting scheduled on May 28, 2023 for the ratification of the Council.


While awaiting WT’s final decision, STF would like to take this opportunity to thank all
stakeholders for their support and understanding during this period where the challenges were
exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. The lifting of the suspension was only possible through
the collective efforts of Board members, STF secretariat team, affiliate leaders, examiners, course
conductors, technical officials, referees, volunteers, athletes and practitioners, past and present.
STF would also like to thank Dr Tan Eng Liang, Chairman of IMC, members and secretariat of IMC,
SNOC and SportSG for their leadership, guidance and support over this period.


Moving forward, especially with the resumption of activities, Professor Tan Cheng Han, President
of STF, hopes that the fraternity will continue to support the board in its continuing efforts to
further raise the standards of governance of STF and sporting excellence of all practitioners.

Congratulations to Ms Fong Yee Min, International Kyorugi Referee

The Singapore Taekwondo Federation would like to congratulate Ms Fong Yee Min for attaining
the qualification of 3rd Class International Referee at the 120th International Kyorugi Referee
Seminar conducted by the World Taekwondo that was held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates from
12 to 15 January 2023. Besides being an active referee, Ms Fong is also the Secretary of the STF
Education Committee and has represented Singapore in international championships, including
the SEA Games. We hope the newly minted international referee will inspire more national
referees to take the step up to be international referees as well. Congratulations once again!

The Singapore Taekwondo Federation (STF) Coach Seminar 2023 will be held on Sunday, 12 March 2023 at NTUC Downtown East at 1 Pasir Ris Close, Singapore 519599.

9am to 12noon
Registration starts at 8.30am

Details

(a) This coach seminar is conducted by STF. Participants are to indicate the preferred session on the registration form as number of slots are fixed.
(b) Registration & Payment will close on Tuesday, 28 February 2023 with no further extension. By signing up for the seminar, which shall involve video recording and photographs taking, Participants shall be deemed to have consented to have their photographs and videos taken of them, for educational and publicity purposes accordingly.
(c) Dress Code: Full Dobok (STF-approved)
(d) Participants shall be subject to STF’s Code of Conduct and Disciplinary Jurisdiction for the Seminar and the duration of the coach pass.
Please be informed the renewal of coach passes and/or application of a new coach pass will be carried out at this seminar on 12 March 2023 and each participant is required to pay SGD$120 (subjected to 8% GST) for a Coach Pass which will be valid till 31 March 2026.

The programme is as follows

Current coaches MUST submit 2 passport-sized photographs and their current Coach Pass as documents for renewal. Their current passes are to be surrendered upon the issuance of the new passes.
New coaches who wish to apply a coach pass MUST submit 2 passport-sized photographs and ALL of the following documents:

  • NCAP (Level 1) Certificate / SG Coach Level 1 Certificate
  • NCAP (Level 2) Certificate
  • Poomsae Coach Certificate (Level 1, Level 2 or Level 3)

    Alternative to renewing or applying Coach Pass at the seminar on 12 March, coaches may register and attend the Coach Induction scheduled on Monday, 13 March 2023 and Sunday, 19 March 2023.

    Time: 9am to 1pm
    Venue: National Training Centre, 80 Lor Limau, Singapore 320080

    The Coach Induction cost SGD$60 (subjected to 8% GST) per participant and another SGD
    $120 (subjected to 8% GST) for a coach pass which will be valid till 31 March 2026.
