It was an honor for Chelsea Sim, 2015 Taekwondo SEA Games Gold Medallist, to be selected by the Organizing Committee to lead the National Pledge at the start of the NILA Walk/Run held on Sunday 30 July 2017 at the Padang.
STF President and Chef-de-Mission for the 2017 SEA Games, Mr Milan Kwee, was present to witness the pledge taking and congratulated Chelsea for a job well done.
The taekwondo community is proud of her achievement. Look out for Chelsea in action at the 2017 Malaysia SEA Games!
The Singapore Taekwondo Federation will be organizing a Sparring Course (Fundamental) on Sunday 20 August 2017 from 2.30pm to 5.30pm. Candidates going for their 1st poom or dan will be exempted from sparring if they have the fundamental certification.

A retest will be conducted for those who received provisional passes or were unsuccessful on Sunday 13 August 2017 at 2.30pm at the STF National Training Centre. The retest fee is $21.40 (inclusive of GST).

After much considerations, the Singapore Taekwondo Federation (STF) has decided to conduct a special review for participants who were unsuccessful in the Poomsae Coach Upgrading Course held on 1 April 2017.
The special review will be held on Saturday 12 August 2017 from 1.30pm at the STF National Training Centre.
Please call the Secretariat at 6345 1491 by Monday 7 August 2017 to register. The review fee is $21.40 (inclusive of GST). Late charges will be applicable for on the spot registration.
The overall results for the NCAP (Level 1) Technical Course after the retest held on 15 May 2017 at J H Kim Taekwondo (Bukit Timah) are attached.
Those participants who are successful are required to complete 3 months (twice a week) or 6 months (once a week) of practical coaching attachment. Trainee coaches can have their choice of schools or clubs approved by the STF for their attachment.
Form A must be returned to the STF at least two (2) weeks before they start their coaching attachment. Attachment without prior approval of STF will not be accepted.
Form B is for trainee coaches to record their attendance. It must be counter-signed by their respective club officials.
The two forms are available in the ‘Forms’ folder.
On receipt of the completed Form B, the STF will issue certificates to coaches only after having satisfied that the coaches have fulfilled their obligations. Practical attachment must be complete within 2 years of the announcement of the results. After that, the results will be considered null and void.

Another opportunity is open for affiliates to participate in an international competition organized in Malaysia.
If your club is interested to field a team for the 15th International Clubs Open Taekwondo Championships which will be held from 7 to 11 September 2017 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the full details are attached.
Participating clubs will be responsible for all matters and expenses pertaining to the competition. While club may liaise directly with the organizers, all correspondences must be copied to the Singapore Taekwondo Federation.

If you are, here’s an opportunity for you to do so.
We are inviting aspiring champions (all categories from 12 years and above) to join the National Training Squad.
The training schedule is as follows.
– Monday to Thursday (7.30pm to 9.30pm) – Friday (7.30pm to 9.30pm) Kyorugi only – Saturday (11.00am to 1.00pm) Poomsae only – Sunday (12.00pm to 2.00pm)
For members of the squad who find difficulty in meeting the schedule, we also provide flexible training periods.
You may join the squad, subject to the approval of your respective clubs, at any time convenient to you by reporting for training at the STF National Training Centre, Block 80 Lorong Limau #04-191 Singapore 320080.
Members of the squads must continue to be members of their respective clubs to qualify to remain in the squads. Affiliates will have the rights to withdraw their players from the squads at their own discretion.
The program and fixtures for the 2017 PA-STF Taekwondo Championships, which will be held on 22 & 23 July 2017 at Toa Payoh Sports Hall, are attached.
Club officials are reminded that only coaches with passes are allowed to enter the field of play with their players.
Male and female players are required to wear the following equipment on entering the arena: head gear (blue or red only), trunk protector, forearm guard, shin guard, groin guard, gloves and mouth piece. Daedo PSS will be used for all categories. The organizer will ONLY provide the PSS head gear, trunk protector and sensing socks for the Senior Divisions. Head gear will NOT be provided for the Cadet, Young Junior & Junior Divisions.
Recycled sensing socks will be provided. If competitors are concerned with the hygiene, they may purchase them at the venue. The cost of the sensing socks is S$90 per pair.
Roll Call will begin at 1.00pm (Saturday) and 9.00am (Sunday)
Volunteers and referees are to report to Mr Andy Lee (Tournament Chairman) on the following days and times.
