11th National Taekwondo Poomsae Championships

The 11st National Taekwondo Poomsae Championships will be held on 3, 4, 10 & 11 June 2017 at Jurong East Sports Hall.

More information is available in the attached competition outline. The registration forms are also attached.

All participating team must provide at least one referee per every 30 participants  for the duration of the championships to qualify for participation.  The referee may not be the same person.  For example, it is acceptable for a club to submit four referees, one each for every competition day.  A club will be barred from future participation if its referee fails to fulfil his or her obligations without the approval of the Tournament Chairman.  

2017 National International Schools Taekwondo Championships Overall Results

The 2017 National International Schools Taekwondo Championships were successfully held on Monday 10 April 2017 at Toa Payoh Sports Hall.

The event saw Singapore American School, led by Mr Patrick Tan, successfully defended its overall title.  Attached is the competition overall results.

The Singapore Taekwondo Federation would like to thank all parents, school officials, participants and coaches for the success of the tournament.

J H Kim Taekwondo Institute (Bukit Timah) is looking for instructors who are interested to work full-time or part-time in their schools at Bukit Timah, Sembawang or Woodlands.

Competitive remuneration is assured but will depend on the applicant’s qualifications and experience.

Applicants must possess a Singapore Taekwondo Federation black belt certification and will have an advantage if they possess any/all of the following.

– Singapore-recognised coaching certifications
– Singapore-recognised referee qualifications 
– First Aid, AED & CPR certifications
– relevant coaching experience.

Unarmed Combat Course (Level 1) Results (March 2017)

The results for the Unarmed Combat Course (Level 1) held on 11, 12 & 18 March 2017 at the STF National Training Centre are attached.

Retest for unsuccessful participants will be held on Saturday 29 April 2017 at 1.30pm  The fee is $20.  On the sport registration for those those who have not registered is $30 per component.

Those who are interested in the retest must call the STF Secretariat at 6345 1491 by 5.00pm on Monday 24 April 2017 to register.  Payment may be made at the venue before the retest.

2017 National Inter-Schools (Program & Fixtures)

The 2017 National Inter-Schools Taekwondo Championships will be held at Toa Payoh Sports Hall as follows.

–  Primary (Tuesday to Friday, 11 to 13 April 2017)

–  B & C Divisions (Monday to Thursday 17 to 20 April 2017)

–  A Division (Friday 21 April 2017)

The program and fixtures are attached.

Teachers, team officials and coaches are advised to take note of the following for all 9 days of competition.

–  Reporting time for 1st batch of competitors (8.30am)

–  Briefing for teachers, team officials and coaches (8.40am)

All volunteers and referees are to report to Mr Andy Lee, Tournament Chairman, at 8.00am.

The STF wishes all participants and spectators an enjoyable and rewarding experience at the tournament.

Referees Required for National Inter-School Championships

The annual National School Taekwondo Championships will kick off with the poomsae and kyorugi competition for international schools on Monday 10 April 2017 at Toa Payoh Sports Hall. After that, the National School Games tournament will commence and the schedule is as follows.

  • Primary Divisions (Poomsae ) – Tuesday & Wednesday 11 & 12 April 2017
  • Primary Divisions (Kyorugi) – Wednesday & Thursday 12 & 13 April 2017
  • B & C Divisions (Poomsae) – Monday & Tuesday 17 & 18 April 2017
  • B & C Divisions (Kyorugi) – Wednesday & Thursday 19 & 20 April 2017
  • A Division (Poomsae) – Thursday & Friday 20 & 21 April 2017

As in all tournaments, referees are required to conduct the competition and help make the event a success. As the Championships are staged on weekdays from 9am to 6pm, it may be difficult for some referees to commit themselves for all the competition days. Therefore, the Singapore Taekwondo Federation would like to know the availability of referees for each day.

If you are officiating in the event, please call any of the Secretariat staff at 63451491 to inform them of your availability. Referees who officiated more than 45 hours each in the poomsae or kyorugi tournament will be exempted from the next Referee Refresher Course test and granted a referee grade promotion if all the promotion requirements are met.

2017 NTU Taekwondo Open Championships Overall Results

The 2017 NTU Taekwondo Open Championships were successfully held on 25 & 26 March 2017 at the Nanyang Technological University Sports Hall.

The overall results are attached.

The Singapore Taekwondo Federation congratulates all winners at the event.

Poomsae Referee Course (March 2017) Special Review

All participants in the recently concluded Poomsae Referee Course (March 2017) will be required to attend a special review on Saturday 8 April 2017 at 1.30pm at the National Training Centre. A review fee of $20 will be applicable.

The results will be made known at the session.

Please call the Secretariat at 6345 1491 by Friday 7 April 2017 to register.  Participants who do not attend the session will be considered as unsuccessful in the course.

2017 National International Schools (Program & Fixtures)

Volunteers are to report to Mr Andy Lee, Tournament Chairman, at 9.00am while all referees must sign in by 12.30pm.

2017 Nestle Koko Krunch Overall Results

The 2017 Nestle Koko Krunch Junior Taekwondo Championships were sucessfully held on 25 & 26 February 2017 at Toa Payoh Sports Hall.

AkiraX Taekwondo captured the Regional Grand Champion title with a total haul of 20 gold, 16 silver and 11 bronze medals.

The Singapore Taekwondo Federation would like to thank all club officials, parents and volunteers for making the event a successful one.
