The results of the NCAP Technical (Level 1) Course held on 19 & 20 November 2016 and 3, 4 & 10 December 2016 at the STF National Training Centre are attached.

Those participants who are successful are required to complete 3 months (twice a week) or 6 months (once a week) of practical coaching attachment. Trainee coaches can have their choice of schools or clubs approved by the STF for their attachment.

Form A must be returned to the STF at least two (2) weeks before they start their coaching attachment. Attachment without prior approval of STF will not be accepted.

Form B is for trainee coaches to record their attendance. It must be counter-signed by their respective club officials.

The two forms are available in the ‘Forms’ folder.

On receipt of the completed Form B, the STF will issue certificates to coaches only after having satisfied that the coaches have fulfilled their obligations. Practical attachment must be complete within 2 years of the announcement of the results. After that, the results will be considered null and void.

Please read the following important notes pertaining to the retest.

• A retest will be conducted on Saturday 11 February 2017 at the STF National Training Centre for those who fail either the theory, practical or both components or pledge.  Theory retest will begin at 12.30pm followed by practical at 1.30pm.
• Those who are interested must register for the retest by Monday 6 February 2017. Candidates must call the Secretariat at 6345 1491 to register and payment may be made at the venue before the retest. The registration fee is $20 per component. However, on the spot registration for the retest is $30 per component.
• Candidates for the practical retest are required to bring along a new lesson plan
• Result pending resubmission of lesson plan must be made by Monday 6 February 2017 at the STF office. The lesson plan may be posted to the Coaching Chairman, Singapore Taekwondo Federation, 260A Tanjong Katong Road Singapore 437048.
• Participants are advised to read their notes to prepare for the theory retest.

The retest results of the ‘Dan’ Promotion Course are attached.

Candidates who are unsuccessful are advised to practice the relevant components to give them a better chance of success in the final retest.

The final retest for those who failed to clear any components will be held on Sunday 5 February 2017 at 2.30pm at the STF National Training Centre.

Please register for the retest with the Secretariat at 6345 1491 by Tuesday 31 January 2017. On the spot registration will not be entertained.

The STF will be conducting another NCAP (Level 1) Technical Course to be held at J H Kim (Bukit Timah) on the following days from 7.00pm to 10.00pm.

This course is specially organized to cater to coaches who are unable to attend weekend courses.

The NCAP (Level 2) Technical Course will be held on 18 & 19 February 2017 and 4 & 5 March 2017 at the STF National Training Centre.

We would like to remind all coaches that the NCAP (Level 2) Technical will be a requirement with effect from April 2017 for all local coaches who wish to coach at STF-organized or sanctioned kyorugi tournaments.  Announcement of the requirement was made at the 2014 Coach Seminar.

We encourage coaches to upgrade themselves for the benefits of their students.

If you have not achieved your Level 2 qualification, this will be your chance to do so before the requirement takes effect.

The registration form is available in the Forms folder and course details are attached.

Registration for the coach seminar which will be held on Sunday 19 March 2017 from 9.00am to 1.00pm is now open. The venue will be announced at a later date. The seminar is a mandatory requirement for coaches who wish to renew the passes.

The tentative program for the seminar, which is a mandatory requirement for coaches who wish to renew their passes, is as follows:

–  Talk on ‘From a taekwondo practitioner to a taekwondo coach – a total development’ Dr Ho Mun Wai

–  Talk on ‘How to talk so that children can learn more effectively in a taekwondo environment’ by Mr Lai Han Seng

–  Talk on ‘Facilitating trainees’ development in a multi-cultural society’ by Mr Tan Yong Chen

–  Talk on ‘A guide to safe taekwondo’ by Ms Delphine Fong

–  Talk on ‘Instructional Strategies for Sports Coaching for Advanced Techniques’ by Mr David Yeo

The dress code for the seminar is ‘Dobok’.  Please ensure that the ‘dobok’ is STF-approved.

All participants will receive a certificate of achievement.

The fee is $100 (inclusive of the coach pass renewal for 3 years). Club leaders and black belts may also attend the event for general knowledge. The fee is $60.

A late payment fee of $50 will be imposed after the closing date.

Please bring along 2 passport-sized photos if you wish to apply for the new coach pass.  The coach pass application form will be available at the end of seminar.
