Singapore has been at the forefront in supporting World Taekwondo (WT) in the development of Virtual Taekwondo. We have hosted the inaugural WT Virtual Taekwondo World Championships in 2024 and our athletes have also achieved praise-worthy podium success at this prestigious tournament. We are excited by the introduction of WT world rankings for Virtual Taekwondo in October 2025 and the possibility of inclusion as a medal sport in future Major Games (e.g. South-east Asia Games). To sustain the development of our top Virtual Taekwondo talents, the STF will embark on the formation of the 2026 National Development Squad through the process of Open Selection.
The 2026 VTKD NDS Open Selection will be held on 23 May 2026 and 30 May 2026 at the Bedok National Training Centre and we encourage and welcome athletes who aspire to be part of the STF VTKD National Development Squad to apply to participate in the Open Selection through their respective club. More details are included in the attached Information Pack. The Application Form should be submitted by 5.00pm on 11 May 2026.
