The Singapore Taekwondo Federation (STF) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Lioe Nam Khiong as a member of the Board of Patrons.
STF President Milan Kwee was in Jakarta Indonesia on 23 May 2011 to present the certificate of appointment to Mr Lioe who is the Vice-President of Indonesia Taekwondo Association (Indonesia national association for taekwondo) and the President of the Universal Indonesia Taekwondo Foundation. He is also a Council Member of the Asia Taekwondo Union and an Executive Council Member of the ASEAN Taekwondo Federation (ATF).
That day also marked the opening of the Foundation and STF President attended the event on behalf of Mr Kris Wiluan, President of ATF. Mr Kwee also represented STF at the event.
It is the good fortune of the STF to have Mr Lioe who is known internationally for his love and passion for the sport of taekwondo. He has contributed significantly to the development of taekwondo in Indonesia by revitalizing it with his personal effort and resources.
By agreeing to support the STF, he shows his ardent wish for the sport to grow. For a start, Mr Lioe contributes S$30,000 to the organization for its development program.
The other two members of the Board of Patrons are Mr Kris Wiluan and Mr Lawrence Leow. Both of them have been recently recognized for their contributions to taekwondo by the World Taekwondo Federation.
