Poomsae Referee Course (May 2015)

The Poomsae Referee Course will be held on 23 & 24 May 2015 at the STF National Training Centre.

Black belt holders who wished to officiate at the National Poomsae 2015 and all STF-sanctioned poomsae tournaments should take this opportunity to gain the qualification as the next course is scheduled to be held in 2016.

The detailed information is as follows.

Certification:All successful candidates will be awarded Class 3 (Provisional) Certification.

This includes all costs and expenses incurred as a result of such claims.

However, the course will be postponed if it does not have the minimum number of participants.

Important Notice – Updated Programme & Competitors’ List for National Poomsae

The updated progarmme and competitors’ list for the 2015 National Taekwondo Poomsae Championships which will be held on Saturday & Sunday 25 & 26 July 2015 at Toa Payoh Sports Hall are attached.

Club officials, coaches and competitors are advised to take note of the new information hightlighted in YELLOW.

The Singapore Taekwondo Federation wishes all participants an enriching and enjoyable experience.

NCAP (Level 1) Technical Results (February 2015)

The results of the NCAP Technical (Level 1) Course held on 7, 8, 14 & 15 February 2015 and 1 March 2015 at the STF National Training Centre and ITE (East) are attached.

Those participants who are successful are required to complete 3 months (twice a week) or 6 months (once a week) of practical coaching attachment. Trainee coaches can have their choice of schools or clubs approved by the STF for their attachment.

Form A must be returned to the STF at least two (2) weeks before they start their coaching attachment. Attachment without prior approval of STF will not be accepted.

Form B is for trainee coaches to record their attendance. It must be counter-signed by their respective club officials.

The two forms are available in the ‘Forms’ folder.

On receipt of the completed Form B, the STF will issue certificates to coaches only after having satisfied that the coaches have fulfilled their obligations. Practical attachment must be complete within 2 years of the announcement of the results. After that, the results will be considered null and void.

Please read the following important notes pertaining to the retest.

  • A retest will be conducted on Saturday 9 May 2015 for those who fail either the theory, practical or both components or pledge.  The venue will be announced at a later date. Theory retest will begin at 2.00pm followed by practical at 3.00pm.
  • Those who are interested must register for the retest by Thursday 7 May 2015. Candidates must call the Secretariat at 6345 1491 to register and payment may be made at the venue before the retest. The registration fee is $20 per component. However, on the spot registration for the retest is $30 per component.
  • Candidates for the practical retest are required to bring along a new lesson plan. 
  • Participants are advised to read their notes to prepare for the theory retest.

Office Closure 14 to 24 April 2015

There Singapore Taekwondo Federation (STF) Secretariat will be closed from 14 to 24 April 2015 as all staff will be involved in the  National Inter-School Taekwondo Championship which will be held during the period at Toa Payoh Sport Hall. 

For urgent matters,  you may call upon the staff at the sport Hall. 

The STF apologizes for any inconvenience caused. 

Collection of April 2015 Grading Results

Due to the closure of the Secretariat for the  National Inter-School Taekwondo Championships,  result of the April 2015 Centralized Grading will be ready for collection from Monday 11 May 2015.

We would appreciate it if you could avoid coming during Lunch hour(1.00pm to 2.00pm) .

2015 National Inter-Schools Programme & Fixtures

The 2015 National Inter-Schools Taekwondo Championships will be held at Toa Payoh Sports Hall as follows.

–  Primary (Wednesday to Friday, 15 to 17 April 2015)

–  B & C Divisions (Monday to Wednesday 20 to 22 April 2015)

–  A Division (Thursday 23 April 2015)

The programme and fixtures are attached.

Teachers, team officials and coaches are advised to take note of the following for all 6 days of competition.

–  Reporting time for 1st batch of competitors (8.30am)

–  Briefing for teachers, team officials and coaches (8.40am)

All volunteers and referees are to report to Mr Andy Lee, Tournament Chairman, at 8.00am.
The STF wishes all participants and spectators an enjoyable and rewarding experience at the tournament.

Lim Hyun’s Appointment

Mr Lim Hyun, Principal of Hyun Taekwondo Academy, has been appointed by Mr Lee Hyung Kyoung, Chairman of the Korean Chamber of Commerce in Singapore as the Chief Committee Member.

His one-year appointment started on 1 April 2015.

The Singapore Taekwondo Federation extends its heartiest congratulations to Mr Lim on the appointment.

The 2015 National International Schools Taekwondo Championships will be held on Tuesday 14 April 2015 at Toa Payoh Sports Hall.

The programme and fixtures are attached.

Team officials and coaches are advised to take note of the following.

–  Reporting time for 1st batch of competitors (1.15pm)

–  Briefing for Team Managers & Coaches (1.30pm)

Volunteers are to report to Mr Andy Lee, Tournament Chairman, at 8.00am while all referees must sign in by 12.45pm.

The Singapore Taekwondo Federation wishes all competitors an enjoyable experience.

Grading Preparation Workshop Overwhelming Response

More than 100 participants attended the Grading Preparation Workshop which was held on Sunday 29 March 2015 from 2.30pm to 5.30pm at the STF National Training Centre.

The workshop was conducted by the following examiners.

–  Mr Tan Kheng Juan

–  Mr Leon Koh

–  Mr Sam Tan
