The next Taekwondo (Level 1) Coaching Course will be held on 23, 24, 30 and 31 January 2010. And the test will be conducted on 6 February 2009.
The primary objective of the course is to provide basic knowledge of coaching taekwondo skills. On completing the course, participants will be able to organize practice sessions which are safe and challenging for taekwondo athletes.

The first day of the Singapore Elite Youth Taekwondo Championships held on 7 January 2010 at Suntec International Convention Centre Hall 401 was electrifying for spectators, players, coaches and officials.
The entries of officials and players were greeted with heart-thumping music which provided added excitement to all who witnessed the event. There was lots of fanfare from start to end.
The performances of the players were equally exciting. They not only placed their supporters on tenterhooks but also drew loud and appreciative applause. High flying kicks seemed to be the order of the day.

The Singapore Elite Youth Taekwondo Championships will be held on 7 and 8 January 2010 at Suntec International Convention Centre (SICC) from 5pm.

Plans are afoot to organize the 19th Asian Taekwondo Championships some time in late April or early May in either Vietnam or Kazakhstan. For the competition, the Asian Taekwondo Union is thinking of including both kyorugi and poomsae.
In order to better prepare for the tournament, the Singapore Taekwondo Federation is inviting all affiliates to participate in the open trials for kyorugi and poomsae. The details of the trials are as follows:

All participants must be SINGAPORE CITIZENS and holders of Kukkiwon certificates. Shortlisted players and performers will be required to fulfill the training requirements averaging 12 hours per week to qualify for the final selection which will be conducted at least a month before the Championships.

The trials would be open for observation by participants and their accompanying coaches only.

More than 120 members from the national training squad, TEAMgOLD, Assisi Warriors and Management Committee gathered at the National Training Centre to celebrate the season’s holidays, interact and know one another better in a social setting.
Mr Milan Kwee, President of the Singapore Taekwondo Federation, in his brief speech, thanked one and all for attending the function. He wished them a wonderful Christmas and a great New Year.
First, it was the food – some of which were generously contributed by parents of a few members of the national training squad. After that, games galore for the younger ones and not so young. There were some who find joy cracking jokes and bantering with each other.

The Selection Panel comprising Mr Steven Soh, Mr Chin Khee Shin and Mr Lee Thiam Poh based their recommendations on the performances of the players in the final selection held on 20 December 2009. However, the Management Committee decided to send more than the recommended number of players after considering their training commitment and their potential for future competitions.

Chingay Parade Singapore 2010 will be held on 19 and 20 February 2010 at 8.30pm and 8.00pm respectively at F1 Pit Building/Singapore Flyer. It promises an extraordinary evening with lots of adrenal-pumping performances for spectators.
